Stacey Trock, the eighth person I’ve met on this journey, is the kind of person who brings a huge amount of energy and openness into a conversation without ever making it feel forced.
Originally from America and now building her life here in Australia, Stacey works as a lead copywriter, though you quickly get the sense that her role is only one part of what makes her interesting. From the beginning, she was incredibly easy to talk to, warm, funny and genuinely engaged in the conversation rather than simply waiting for her turn to speak.
We spoke quite a bit about her experience migrating from the United States and adjusting to life in Australia. It was interesting hearing how moving countries changes not only your environment, but your sense of identity and perspective too. Stacey spoke honestly about the process of building a new life somewhere unfamiliar, and there was something refreshing about how grounded and adaptable she seemed throughout it all.
What stood out most to me was her optimism. She has the kind of personality that naturally lifts the tone of a conversation. Even when talking about challenges or uncertainty, she approaches things with humour, perspective and a sense of possibility rather than negativity.
My main takeaway from meeting Stacey?
Some people make new places feel familiar very quickly, not because they have everything figured out, but because they bring openness and positivity wherever they go. Stacey reminded me how powerful that mindset can be.
